Chinmaya Mission Kasi, envisioned by Swami Chinmayananda in 1992, became a reality in 1996. Surrounded by tall and shady trees with green foliage, Kasi
- the abode of Lord Shiva, stand majestically tall in the heart of Anaheim, very close to Disneyland Resorts. A 3.5' tall white marble murti of Lord Shiva adorns the main central prayer room. Since its inauguration, Kasi has become the center for all activities of the Chinmaya mission in Southern California.
In 1998 an additional facility, the Kasi Annex, was acquired to accomodate the growing activities. The Chinmaya Dhyaan Mandir - Meditation Center - was built in 2001 for exclusive meditation and contemplation. The sound-proof Meditation Hall with a large picture of Gurudeva Swami Chinmayananda provides an ambiance conducive to meditation.
Over 300 children attend the Bala Vihar classes and Youth Group activities hed at Kasi every sunday. the Kasi center has facilities for learning the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and scriptures on Vedanta philosophy from the resident Acharya. Festivals like Maha Shivaratri, Rama Navami, Guru Pornima, Ganesh Chaturti, Krishna Janmashtami, Diwali, Gita Jayanti, Pujya Swami Chinmayananda's Jayanti and mahasamadhi are also observed every year at Kasi.
